MOENIEWORRIENIE

STAGE ensemble youth production based on devising work and physical theatre

by and with Matilde Quirynen, Tom Viaene, Janna van Mingeroet, Bart van der Heijden and Amber Frances

for LUCA School of Arts.

‘Moenieworrienie’ is the South-African phrase for ‘Don’t worry’. But that’s not the memo our four characters got… Together they are on their way. To… somewhere, where there are no worries. The destination is unclear, but they have each other and they are determined to get there. (Will they though?)

The play tells the story about the journey they’re on together, how every individual is also a part of a group en how they drive each other mad, but look after one another at the same time.

Who are you individually? How do friendships happen? And how valuable is it once you’ve found it? Does the journey become more important than the destination after all?

Moenieworrienie is a visual and physical family show, inspired by elements of slapstick and clowning. For the characters as well as the audience it’s an exciting journey full of peaks and lows, keeping you on the edge of your seat.
